The Community and
Sports Centre will be built on the Playing
Fields, thereby providing the village with
a single combined location for sports and social
gatherings. The project will be funded through
the provision of some private housing on adjacent
land.
Key features
of the project include:
in
the new Village Hall:
- a large hall
seating up to 150 people
- a smaller meeting
room
- a fully fitted
kitchen
- a large reception
area and plenty of storage space
- toilets, separate
male and female, disabled WC , baby changing
facilities
- “Home and Away” changing
rooms with lockers showers and toilets and
storage space for sports equipment.
and
externally:
- the cricket
pitch no longer competing with the football
pitches, with new football pitches to the
north of the existing Playing Fields
- a floodlit
multi-use games area allowing outdoor games
to be played all year round
- a new access
road to the north and ample car parking
- four detached,
four semi-detached and four to six affordable
houses to fund the project.
The
Project Steering Group is confident that with
the support of the Village our ambition to
create a much-needed, new community and sports
facilities in Manuden can now be achieved.
